How Our Charter Service Began

FROM A KID WITH A ROD TO A RIVER LEGEND

Long Beard’s started the way all great fishing stories do with a kid who couldn’t stay away from the water. Growing up on the banks of the Fraser, our founder spent every spare hour learning the river’s moods, its currents, and its secrets.

By 1999, what started as weekend trips with friends turned into a full time calling. Word spread fast: if you wanted to find fish on the Fraser, you called Long Beard’s. Two decades later, that reputation hasn’t just held. It’s grown.

Today, we run one of the most respected charter operations in British Columbia, but the philosophy hasn’t changed: treat every guest like family, respect the river, and never stop chasing the next big catch.

A Long Beard’s trip is a full-day immersion into the Fraser River experience. From the moment you step aboard, you’re in the hands of guides who know every bend, eddy, and prime fishing spot on the water.

We provide premium, top-of-the-line rods, reels, and tackle—so you can focus entirely on the experience. Whether you’re a first-timer learning the basics or a seasoned angler chasing a personal best, each trip is tailored to you.

At the end of the day, Aaron will clean your catch right on the boat. We also offer professional filleting and vacuum sealing for an additional fee, completed off-site and delivered to your hotel the following day—ready for your cooler and your dinner table.

Every trip starts with a full safety briefing. Our boats are Transport Canada certified, equipped with all required safety gear, and maintained to the highest standards.

We practice responsible catch and release for all sturgeon and follow strict DFO regulations. The river’s health is our livelihood, and we protect it fiercely.
